In this article, I will present places and ways to look for your first job as a Junior Java Developer. Now that you know How to find your first job as a Junior Java Developer?, now it's time to learn how to look for your first job.

Where and how to look for your first job?

Below is my own list of places and ways to look for a job as a Junior Dev.

LinkedIn

The first place where I would look for a job as a Junior Java Developer is LinkedIn. The first thing I would do is update my profile and add a photo. Additionally, you can ensure the correct URL to your LinkedIn profile, e.g. my https://www.linkedin.com/in/jacekjablonka/ I think it's good, but I've seen addresses URL https://www.linkedin.com/in/jan-nowak-b76952190, such a URL does not look good on a CV. You can change your profile link at this address or as I show below.

Mając poprawnie uzupełniony profil na LinkedIn wysyłałbym zaproszenia z wiadomością do rekruterów, koniecznie z sensowną wiadomością, np. “Zapraszam do mojej sieci kontaktów. Obecnie poszukuję pracy jako Junior Java Developer. Link do mojego portfolio https://github.com/juniorjavadeveloper-pl“. Skoro osoby rekrutujące do IT wysyłają tygodniowo kilka zaproszeń i ofert do jednej osoby, dlaczego, to my nie możemy wysyłać zaproszeń i “ofert” do rekruterów? Jeżeli nie możesz znaleźć takiej osoby na LinkedIn, to wyślij zaproszenie do mnie z wiadomością o tym poście, a wtedy będziesz mógł wyszukać rekruterów w moich kontaktach, 500+ kontaktów.

Job Boards

Kolejnym sposobem na szukanie może być regularne przeglądanie ofert lub zapisanie się do powiadomień o wybranych przez nas ofertach do tzw. alertów. Wiele wyszukiwarek ofert pracy w IT umożliwia subskrypcję do interesujących nas ofert. Popularną stroną z ofertami pracy w IT jest https://nofluffjobs.com/pl, https://justjoin.it, https://bulldogjob.pl wiele ofert można znaleźć również na https://emagine.pl/dla-specjalistow-it/.

No Fluff Jobs - subskrypcja powiadomień o wybranych ofertach

Facebook Groups

Facebook groups are also an interesting place to look for a job as a Junior Java Developer, e.g. IT Jobs for Intern/Junior and/or Programming – support at the start. Of course, there are many more groups, just search on Facebook for Java programmer, IT work, and you will get a lot of results. Facebook groups have an additional advantage - we have contact with people who are looking for a job like us, we can exchange knowledge and experiences. Such groups do not delete posts with useful information, which allows you to find them later.

Official websites of IT companies

A less popular and time-consuming way is to browse the websites of IT companies that post job offers on their websites. The advantage of this method is the fact that we will have information about the company, not only a dry job offer and a moderated description, as is the case on websites grouping job offers. Often, the recruiter asks for information about the company to which we are applying to verify our level of commitment to the job search. If we know not only the job offer, but also the company we are applying to, it is a big plus. This means we're interested in more than just earnings and the tech stack.
