id=\"moj-sposob-pozyskiwania-wiedzy\">My way of acquiring knowledge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I will start by presenting the method of acquiring knowledge that I used, which was a very long time ago, about 20 years ago. My main source of knowledge were books and magazines related to the broadly understood computer industry, at which time the term IT industry was not widely used. The books I learned from weren't like how to create an application (desktop, web, mobile) in 10 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There were books that thoroughly described the programming language, I started with Pascal and C++. Having book knowledge about a given programming language, you had to find an idea for an application yourself and implement it. My first Pascal application was to display a graphical menu (console, CLI) with the option of selecting a given option and performing some action, then there was a calculator (desktop, GUI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After some time, I replaced the books with online documentation, which, unlike the paper version, could be updated. I had books on Java, Spring Framework, and Hibernate. Over time, when I used newer versions of the mentioned technologies, I could no longer rely on books. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, I could go back to each book and read about the foundations of a given technology. For example, in Java there are classes, interfaces, and collections; in Spring Framework there are Dependency Injection (DI) and Inversion of Control (IoC); in Hibernate it is Object\/Relational Mapping (ORM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Poni&#380;ej opisa&#322;em &ldquo;trendy&rdquo; zwi&#261;zane z pozyskiwaniem wiedzy przez przysz&#322;ych Junior Java Developer&oacute;w, Developerki &ndash; w kolejno&#347;ci chronologicznej &ndash; z kt&oacute;rymi spotka&#322;em si&#281; zajmuj&#261;c si&#281; mentoringiem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading joli-heading jtoc-heading\" id=\"sposoby-nauki-z-mojego-doswiadczenia\">Ways of learning \u2013 from my experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading joli-heading jtoc-heading\" id=\"samodzielna-nauka\">Self-study<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">I have already written a little bit above about learning from books \u2013 <a href=\"#my-way-of-knowledge\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#my-way-of-knowledge\" target=\"_self \">my way of acquiring knowledge<\/a>. Together with the benefits of the Internet, we have unlimited access to programming knowledge at our fingertips. Limiting ourselves only to the Java language, we have a wealth of information. Currently, my students' main sources of self-study are YouTube and Udemy. As you can see, reading articles and tutorials has been replaced by video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Powa&#380;nym problemem, kt&oacute;ry zauwa&#380;y&#322;em u moich uczni&oacute;w, jest fakt, &#380;e otrzymuj&#261; oni bardzo s&#322;abe,  nieprecyzyjne wyniki w wyszukiwarkach internetowych. Cz&#281;sto jest tak, &#380;e ja, robi&#261;c, to samo zapytanie otrzymuj&#281; &ldquo;idealne&rdquo; wyniki, do kt&oacute;rych osoby ucz&#261;ce si&#281; nie maj&#261; dost&#281;pu &ndash; moje wyszukiwarki maj&#261; dobrze wytrenowane algorytmy pod konkretne tre&#347;ci.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">People who learn on their own struggle with the problem of version variability over time. This means that the tutorial and\/or video course is for Spring Boot version 2.7.12, and by generating a new project using <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/start.spring.io\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/start.spring.io\/<\/a> we get a newer version 3.1.0. Which means that all dependent libraries, e.g. Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, are in newer versions. Wed&#322;ug <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stack_Overflow\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stack_Overflow\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedii<\/a>: &ldquo;Stack Overflow &ndash; serwis spo&#322;eczno&#347;ciowy, na kt&oacute;rym programi&#347;ci mog&#261; zadawa&#263; pytania dotycz&#261;ce szeroko poj&#281;tego wytwarzania oprogramowania.&rdquo;. W telegraficznym skr&oacute;cie, to miejsce, w kt&oacute;rym mo&#380;na szybko znale&#378;&#263; odpowied&#378; na konkretny problem programistyczny. Osobi&#347;cie nauk&#281; programowania za pomoc&#261; StackOverflow por&oacute;wnuj&#281; do &#263;wiczenia na si&#322;owni i budowania masy mi&#281;&#347;niowej z wykorzystaniem &#347;rodk&oacute;w dopinguj&#261;cych. Mo&#380;emy szybko otrzyma&#263; zadowalaj&#261;ce wyniki, ale r&oacute;wnie szybko nasza forma mo&#380;e wr&oacute;ci&#263; do punktu wyj&#347;cia. Co najgorsze, osi&#261;gni&#281;te rezultaty nie b&#281;d&#261; &ldquo;nasze&rdquo; i b&#281;dziemy chwali&#263; si&#281; czym&#347;, czego &ldquo;nie rozumiemy&rdquo; i nie osi&#261;gn&#281;li&#347;my samodzielnie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am not against using StackOverflow, but you should do it wisely and consciously. I find many solutions to various problems on StackOverflow. On this website, we can find solutions to a given specific problem, which are isolated and detached from the context. This is what I am against, using StackOverflow solutions without understanding the broader context. In my opinion, the right approach is if this website will motivate us to expand our knowledge about the problem whose solution we found there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">StackOverflow<\/p>\n<cite>Cz&#281;sto s&#322;ysz&#281; od os&oacute;b, kt&oacute;re przesz&#322;y swoje pierwsze interview: &ldquo;nie wiedzia&#322;em, &#380;e teoria jest potrzebna, gdybym tylko mia&#322; dost&#281;p do IDE i internetu, to bym rozwi&#261;za&#322;, to zadanie&rdquo;. Wszystkie aspekty wydaj&#261; si&#281; przemawia&#263; na korzy&#347;&#263; tego sposobu nauki. Niestety rzeczywisto&#347;&#263; okaza&#322;a si&#281; inna. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zaczn&#281; od tego, &#380;e poda&#380; przewy&#380;szy&#322;a popyt. Firmy IT rekrutuj&#261;ce osoby na stanowisko Junior Java Developer zacz&#281;&#322;y &ldquo;zabezpiecza&#263; si&#281;&rdquo; przed zalewem CV od os&oacute;b po Bootcamp &ndash; zwi&#281;kszaj&#261;c minimalne wymagania dla m&#322;odszych programist&oacute;w, programistek Java. Czas trwania takich szkole&#324; &ndash; od 3 tygodni, sic! do 12 miesi&#281;cy, &#347;rednio 9 miesi&#281;cy &ndash; w trybie kilkunastu godzin w tygodniu wymusza ogromne tempo przekazywania wiedzy, kt&oacute;re, to wcale nie przek&#322;ada si&#281; na jako&#347;&#263; przyswajanej wiedzy. Moim zdaniem Bootcampy rozwodni&#322;y rynek m&#322;odszych specjalist&oacute;w j&#281;zyka Java. Co spowodowa&#322;o, &#380;e pracodawcy zacz&#281;li rozgl&#261;da&#263; si&#281; za innymi mo&#380;liwo&#347;ciami zast&#261;pienia lub nie zatrudniania w og&oacute;le Junior Java Developer&oacute;w.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bootcamp<\/p>\n<cite>Wiele os&oacute;b po Bootcamp zg&#322;asza si&#281; do mnie po pomoc. Czasem chodzi o projekt ko&#324;cowy, ale g&#322;&oacute;wnie s&#261;, to osoby, kt&oacute;re od d&#322;u&#380;szego czasu nie mog&#261; znale&#378;&#263; obiecanego zatrudnienia zaraz po uko&#324;czeniu Bootcampu. W takim przypadku pracujemy nad portfolio, weryfikujemy i poprawiamy CV oraz przeprowadzam symulacj&#281; rozmowy kwalifikacyjnej. Niejednokrotnie uczymy si&#281; &ldquo;od zera&rdquo;. Moim zdaniem jest kilka rzeczy sk&#322;adaj&#261;cych si&#281; na ten trend. <strong>Pierwszy<\/strong> z nich, to morze mo&#380;liwo&#347;ci i &#347;cie&#380;ek nauki na Junior Java Developera. <strong>Kolejny<\/strong>, to niedoskona&#322;o&#347;&#263; grupowego uczenia np.: Bootcamp. <strong>Trzeci<\/strong> z nich, to indywidualne podej&#347;cie do osoby ucz&#261;cej si&#281;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">I will try to explain each of the above elements that have influenced the popularity of mentoring. <strong>A sea of possibilities and learning paths.<\/strong> When you start learning, it seems that the basics of Java are enough, but this is not enough. Junior Java Developer may deal with programming: back-end, front-end, database (SQL) and\/or a combination of all three, i.e. full-stack developer. Currently, the industry standard is knowledge of Spring Framework, Hibernate, Maven, git. Additionally, learners have read in various places on the Internet, Facebook, forums and blogs, that Bootcamp is not perfect and does not actually guarantee knowledge acquisition or employment. Smoothly moving on to<strong>the imperfections of group learning<\/strong>. It should be remembered that the amount of knowledge to be acquired imposes a rigid time frame - a huge pace of work - for transferring the material, and therefore does not provide space for an individual approach to the student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The above elements lead to many people deciding to work with a mentor, me. Samemu jeszcze nie korzysta&#322;em &ndash; nie jestem ich przeciwnikiem &ndash; z ChatGPT, ani z GitHub Copilot (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/features\/copilot\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/github.com\/features\/copilot\" target=\"_blank\">Your AI pair programmer<\/a>). Na razie zg&#322;&#281;biam wiedz&#281; o sztucznej inteligencji (AI) od strony matematycznej. Moim skromnym zdaniem <strong>nie mamy doczynienie z AI, to po prostu dobrze przeszkolony pracownik informacji turystycznej<\/strong>. W tym przypadku, ChatGPT, to dobrze wytrenowany model matematyczny, kt&oacute;ry zosta&#322; napompowany ogromnym zbiorem danych &ldquo;z internetu&rdquo;. AI wspierane przez machine learning (ML) dostarcza takich narzedzi jak ChatGPT. Podczas mojego zg&#322;&#281;biania wiedzy znalaz&#322;em &#347;wietny video kurs na YouTube (tak, te&#380; si&#281; ucz&#281; od moich uczni&oacute;w wyszukiwania wiedzy na YouTube) <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vDDjtwQDw2k\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vDDjtwQDw2k\" target=\"_blank\">No Black Box Machine Learning Course &ndash; Learn Without Libraries<\/a> od <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@freecodecamp\">freeCodeCamp.org<\/a>, kt&oacute;ry k&#322;adzie du&#380;y nacisk na dane i ich przetwarzanie w celu uzyskania nauczania maszynowego, to wszystko bez u&#380;ycia gotowych bibliotek do machine learning (ML). Spring Framework is now \"of age\" - it turned 20 this year. However, Java EE is turning 23 years old, and Java itself is already 27 years old.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">I would add to the above that Java alone is not enough \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.juniorjavadeveloper.pl\/2020\/01\/04\/czy-sam-jezyk-java-wystarczy\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"109\" target=\"_self\">Is Java alone enough?<\/a>. Mo&#380;e, to przyczyni&#263; si&#281; do zmniejszenia liczby ofert dla przysz&#322;ych Junior Java Developer&oacute;w.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading joli-heading jtoc-heading\" id=\"mniejsza-liczba-projektow-it\">Fewer IT projects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have received information from people working in HR that the number of IT projects, i.e. recruitment, they handle has decreased significantly. In Europe, this was caused by the armed conflict on our eastern border, and mass layoffs in the IT industry in the United States have an additional impact. This may help to reduce the number of offers for future Junior Java Developers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading joli-heading jtoc-heading\" id=\"nieprzypadkowe-wygorowane-wymagania-w-ofertach-pracy\">Random, excessive requirements in job offers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Most future Junior Java Developers wonder how it is possible that job offers include such excessive requirements. I invite you to read my article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.juniorjavadeveloper.pl\/2022\/08\/17\/jak-powinny-wygladac-realne-wymagania-dla-junior-java-developera-just-join-it\/ \" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1822\" target=\"_self\">What should the real requirements for a Junior Java Developer look like? \u2013 Just Join IT<\/a>. It's true that job offers have excessive requirements for a Junior, but these requirements coincide with what is needed for the position of a programmer in companies. These and no other requirements constitute a kind of firewall for IT recruiters who are flooded with CVs of people after Bootcamp. Such people will think twice before sending their CV to a given company and will first decide to gain more experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading joli-heading jtoc-heading\" id=\"generowanie-kodu-chatgpt-github-copilot\">Code generation \u2013 ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">I have already written a little about ChatGPT itself in the <a href=\"#chatgpt\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#chatgpt\" target=\"_self\">ChatGPT<\/a> section. I described the code generation itself in detail in my other article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.juniorjavadeveloper.pl\/2023\/03\/03\/low-code-i-no-code-czy-generatory-kodu-zrodlowego-zatapia- programmers\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"2562\" target=\"_self\">Low-code and No-code \u2013 will source code generators replace programmers?<\/a>. In my opinion, tools - based on artificial intelligence (AI) - such as GitHub Copilot can become a solution that will permanently reduce the need for Junior positions to a minimum. With a tool like GitHub Copilot, a Mid-Level or Senior Java Developer will be able to quickly generate code that previously could be outsourced to a Junior Java Developer. I haven't used this tool myself, but many of my developer friends use it on a daily basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To sum up, I do not want to give a gloomy vision of the future for Junior Java Developers, I just wanted to describe the current reality - learning methods and current employment trends. In my opinion, each of the described forms of learning is good, provided that a given programming issue is thoroughly studied and understood by the learner. When it comes to current employment trends, like all trends, these will pass. You must dynamically adapt to changing conditions. It's not like artificial intelligence (AI) is taking our jobs immediately, here and now. It is a slow process that we agree to.
